City of Dothan Consolidated Plan

City of Dothan Community Development Plans

Does your neighborhood have access to Affordable Housing, parks, transportation, grocery stores, and other essential resources?

The City of Dothan is updating its Five-Year Consolidated Plan and Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice. These plans address local needs related to housing, community development, and homelessness. They are required by the U.S. Department of  Housing and Urban Development (HUD) so that the City can continue to receive federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds.

The Consolidated Plan evaluates housing and community needs and sets priorities to address them using CDBG funds over the next five years. Funds can be used for affordable housing, economic development, infrastructure and community facilities, and services for youth, seniors, people experiencing homelessness, and other residents.

The Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice (AI) identifies barriers to equal access to housing and neighborhood opportunities and proposes strategies to overcome those barriers.

The community's opinions and perceptions are an important part of these planning processes, and everyone is invited to participate.Your input will provide essential information to local policymakers, city and county staff, housing providers, social service providers, lenders, and affordable housing advocates.
